We reviewed the few songs we learned before at the begging of the class: 你好歌、礼貌歌、上学歌. After we reviewed the song, we started to learn a new chapter from the textbook. So, we spent our first period to read chapter 8 春天真美丽. The teacher uses some word to help students understand the title of the chapter.

*The weekly homework is a very important part of this class; it helps the students to retain their learning at the class. So please do spend time during the weekdays working on your assigned homework......The more you keep yourself exposed to the Chinese sonds and characters throughout the week, the more you'll learn from our class time!

In the second period, students watched a short pinyin YouTube video to learn more about pinyin. We also practiced writing some new Chinese characters that from ch8: 一、儿、手、大. If student's Chinese character practice sheet not finishes, student please finish it in the home.

Finally we learned the text, sang it with a tune and played "Beat the teacher" game to make sure the students can read all the characters in the text. Please practice reading the text, as usually, as part of your homework assignment. Parents may help and record the students' reading. voice files can be sent to Che Laoshi via email or wechat. Detailed instruction can be found in previous week's homework sheet.

We didn't "officially" teach this song during our class time. But it's a simple one and may be a good one to play to the students at home......

Chinese School 2/5/2017

Great job on your performance during the New Star Chinese School New Year's Show students!!! It was so much fun to watch all of you sing, dance and enjoying yourselves!!! I hope you all had a great time and welcome back to class! At the beginning of class the teacher asked the students and TA's to share what each one of them did during New Year's with their families. It was so much fun to hear what all of you did and all the culture you learned by celebrating New Years.



After all the sharing, the teacher reviewed everything we have learned so far in the school year. Please review what we have learned, it will be easier during class because the textbook will use
words that we have already learned in future chapters. Review the characters at home!





After reviewing, the students played Bingo with the Pin Yin that we have learned in class so far in the school year. Please also make sure to review Pin Yin at home too! Please complete your homework and we will see you next week!
